It is with great sadness that the Wellesley Apple Butter and Cheese Festival committee, one of Waterloo Regions favourite fall festivals has decided to postpone this year’s festival due to the uncertainty resulting from the recent COVID-19 global pandemic. The committee came to the difficult but unanimous decision of postponing the festival until September 25, 2021.
The decision made tonight ultimately comes down to public safety. In our 45th year, this is not worth the risk to the health of all our volunteers, vendors and patrons. This is about protecting people, and family, and right now there are too many risks and too many unknowns. The Wellesley Apple Butter and Cheese Festival was scheduled to take place on Saturday September 26, 2020 in the beautiful town of Wellesley, bringing thousands of festival goers to Waterloo Region to raise funds to support the local initiatives in the Town of Wellesley.
This was not an easy decision to make. With all the uncertainty and many other public events and festivals in the area being cancelled, we feel this is the correct decision to make for everyone involved.
